How do you change the currency symbol?
Go to your windows control panel, click on regional settings, then customize, then currency, and change the symbol to what you want, and the receipt will print out the currency you want or what ever you have put in the field. This works or you can choose the country you want from the drop down list.
What scanner features and what interface do I need?
A scanner is like a keyboard. Any interface works. If the scanner works, it works. It has nothing to do with the software.

The PCCharge site is a recommendation. We have tested the software on XP Home and it works fine. Hundreds of users have also used it successfully on XP Home.

Is there any way to get into a file to translate all keyword terms in one process, instead of doing each individually?
No.
What do you need to load my items?
We would need you do provide your item database file in a .xls or tab delimited format so we can load it for you. Indicate the field name for each of your data fields. When we have received your file, and translated your terms, we will provide a download link for your software.
How do I eliminate the balance information on the bottom of the receipt?
Balance - Opens a customer balance report on the selected customer record.
Account Balances This software has the ability to carry an account balance for customers. Any "Debit" limit can be specified, and is specific to each "customer" only. 1) Customers must first be entered into the customer database. 2) Select a customer to "Edit" and fill in the "Debit Limit" amount. 3) If the company requests, the "Terms" may also be specified in the customer screen at this time. If the terms are 30 days, and the account has not been cleared, a message will be given. 4) The customer is now able to purchase items up to his/her limit. 5) The cashier should start the sale as usual by selecting the customer, add whatever items, and complete the sale using the "terms" option instead of cash or visa. 6) The receipt will print as usual with a "Balance Due" tag on the receipt. 7) The transaction will close (turns to grey scale when selected) but will read as "NO" under the paid column on the sales screen (bottom right). 8) The customer's balance will show for each future purchase. 9) The customer can make payments to their account in 2 ways. Can I get the POS on a backup CD. Yes, just do your backup when prompted, and then copy the backup directory or data to a CD.
Can I use any credit card processor I want. Yes, but if you want to have CC authorization IN the software it requires PCCharge and a merchants account of course.
and can we hookup a CC scanner that the software will recognize? Credit card scanners are like keyboards they either work or they don't. They don't have anything to do with recognizing relative to the software.
Will it recognize the Epson receipt printers that are out there?YES. We of course provide all hardware if you want.
I would like to download the software now but not use up my technical support time until we actually open our store next month, is that possible? Download the demo. Don't buy until you are ready to use it live. It is provided with electronic support ticket support for your questions for 30 days from the day of purchase.

How do I put a message on the receipt?
You can always enter a message at the time an invoice or receipt is created, indicating the time of an appointment, or anything else you want to put on the receipt. After starting the sale or adding items just click the options button to the left. ( double check marks) A window will pop up and you can enter your message. This message will then print on the receipt.
Is it possible to keep track of the pick-up dates? No, it does not do this.

Procedure for a tailoring alteration tailor operation:
I would suggest using quick add for the item at the bottom of the screen IF THE SERVICE OR PROCEDURE IS A ONE OF A KIND SERVICE. Use a unique number for the item such as the customer's phone number or drivers license number or some other unique number for the customer (date and time works ok) 11132006656. YOU DO NOT WANT TO DO THIS AND THE SERVICE IS NOT UNIQUE. Set up all your items and services, first and then setup a customer. You can always use the procedures below to pull up any transaction by an individual customer.
Then take the deposit or payment. (You will need to go to setup and remove the check for out of stock warning to eliminate it)
Then add the customer, with any notes that you may need.
Click or press on Finish the sale. Take the payment, partial payment or deposit.
Print a receipt which will give the customer the gross amount, the deposit and the balance due.
When the customer come back in to get their finished item and pay the balance, go to sales control and look up the item.
Click on balance due, which will pull up unpaid items. This screen will show the details of the sale and allow you to accept the remainder of the payment.
Enter the remaining payment.
Print a receipt for the payment if you want.
Apply the payment to the proper invoice by clicking in the x column at the far left. This will apply the payment to the open invoice and print a customer receipt with the payments applied and the zero balance.
How do I recover with a backup?
The backup files are in the ezp Backup folder. To roll back or restore to a
backup, copy all the files in "ezp Backup" to the "ezp" folder. 1. I see where the customer and products can be exported to text or Excel but no mention of the sales. Can it export the sales or provide a detailed report of each sale? Have you chosen the Default type, and the TMU220 in receipt preference> POS Printer? That should work, or the generic text only setting.

Will the software work with my Posiflex?
The software is only configured for what is listed. It may be necessary to use the manufacturers printer drivers to control receipt printers with Windows 2000 or xp. It suggested that you contact POSiflex or the vendor where you purchased your printer. The generic text works in many cases.
What does PCCharge Say?
We Prefer you to have WIN XP PRO. We have seen some issues with using PcCharge on WIN XP HOME, Media Center, and Embedded, that are extremly difficult to correct, often times requiring a complete brand new install to correct the issue with no previous processing data from the old install. Our Customers can try running PcCharge on these versions of Windows, at there own risk, there is only so much we can do to assist them.

How do I setup and print labels?
1. Go to products control screen
2. Click the printer to make sure your printer is selected. (If not select the printer)
3. All items that you want to print labels need to be selected at the bottom of the item screen to print labels.
4. Click File (Product control screen) Choose label printer to make sure the printer you have selected comes up. If not select it.
5. Click on the label layout to setup the fields you want to print.
6. Go to equipment setting to choose how you want your labels to print and on what medium.
Network:
With the Network these rules must be followed:
1) The server must be numbered register 1.
2) All clients must be numbered 2 through 8.
3) Don't skip numbers.
